. president obama starts out where he left off in denver then he heads to madison wisconsin. joe biden is in iowa and mitt romney is in virginia. but who wants to talk about all of that when what you really want to talk about is the debates. a lot of claims thrown around last night. we're going to do some fact checking for you this morning. but first let's start out with a bit of a recap. of the debate was moderated by mitt romney. oh wait, we mean jim lehrer who i think it is safe to say did worse than expected. the president did not perform up to his usual standards and mitt romney came out swinging taking a very offensive approach against the president as well as jim lehrer, big barned the entire pbs crew. the debate focus around the economy as we knew it would and the candidates traded jabs over tax policies for the middle class. >> romney: under the president's policies middle income americans have been buried. they've been crushed. i will not under any circumstances, raise taxes on middle income families. >> obama: now, five weeks before the election, he's saying his big, b

about today. mitt romney with a four-point lead over president obama. now it is just one poll out of many, but it does prove this election is not in the bag yet. it is going to be a close one and democrats have to continue to work their tails off between now and november 6th. 28 days left. but first here we go with today's current news. hi, lisa, good morning. >> hey, bill good morning, everyone. president obama leaves san francisco this morning, and then he heads to columbus, ohio where he is speaking at ohio state university. mitt romney is hosting an event at the koch family farm and then heads to a rally. several news outlets are pointing out how similar mitt romney's plan is to president obama's. his goal yesterday was to outline a stark contrast to president obama. as think progress notes there are at least four major areas where romney and the president's plan are nearly identical. one is afghanistan. both plan to transfer power to local security forces by the end of 2014. syria, romney wants to give aid to neighboring states. number 3 is iran where both romney and the preside
